The La Manga strip is a piece of land that seperates the Mediterranean sea from the
Mar Menor.It measures 21km in length and 300 metres wide. It is the largest lagoon
in Europe with a surface area of 130 km and a maximum depth of 8 metres.There are
lovely sandy beaches either side with a selection of bars, restaurants, hotels, shops

Located in Murcia covering 25,000 hectares and has been protected since 1930.Most
of the park is covered with pine trees.The views from the mountain peaks over the
pine forests are fantastic. During your visit you may be lucky enough to see mountain
goats and wild boars.This is a wonderful place to take a scenic walk and explore
the mountains and forest or maybe make use one of the picnic areas.
Located in Cabo Tinosa .This is a vast area up to 1000 feet high and comprises of
four forts and several large guns. It was used as part of the defence for the port
of Cartagena and headquarters for the Mediterranean fleet. The whole site has now
been adopted at a place of cultural interest.
Located in Calasparra in which 5km have been mapped. Some caverns are open for guided
tours.The rest can be explored by groups of cavers accompanied by guides. Theres
a choice of two options: A calm visit or an intrepid route for people who love the
underground world. It is one of the largest caves in the region with a horizontal
route that is 4,389 metres long with a 400 metre area fitted out for tourists.
The castle of Monteagudo is situated on the top of a hill near the town of Monteagudo,
5km from the city of Murcia.It constitutes one of the most impressive and well preserved
fortifications in the region. As well as serving as a fortress it was also used as
a prison and a grain store for peasants.
LA MANGA STRIP
Bolnuevo is a small fishing village located 2km south of Puerto de Mazarron.It is
famous for its sandstone formations that are situated next to the beach.Over a period
of thousands of years the wind has eroded the soft sandstone rocks to create some
weird and wonderful shapes.
