Opening a Bank Account in Spain
If you are planning on staying in Spain for longer than six months you will probably
need a bank account. For foreigners in Spain there are two types of account : Resident
and Non-resident accounts.
To be able to open a Spanish bank account you will need the following:
Photographic proof of identity (Passport/ID card)
Proof of occupation or status.
Confirmation of address (utility bill , driving licence , council tax bill – from
within the last 3 months)
Most bank accounts can be opened immediately when taking all the correct information
with you to the bank.
