in Spain for up to three months, after that period a
European health insurance card (EHIC) is needed.
Expatriates in Spain are entitled to free Public

contributed to the Spanish social security. Healthcare is
automatic once you begin paying social security. Your
healthcare will also cover your family members.
For pensioners in Spain needing free healthcare,
there is an agreement in place that they can have healthcare cover without working or contributing to the social security system in Spain.
For this you are required to obtain an E121 form from the UK´s department of social security and register it at your local social security office in Spain.
